dean winchester hoarding food under his bed, even when he’s an adult and doesn’t have to go hungry anymore, because he’s still that little boy that would starve for weeks because dad didn’t left enough money and he couldn’t leave baby sammy alone in a motel room to go and try to steal something.

and so he has old boxes of pizza molding under his bed and sandwiches rotting in the fridge, but every time he goes to throw them away he remembers the ache in his stomach, the throb of his insides and the pain on his throat. he remembers chewing on tree bark on that cabin in colorado and throwing up pure water during that summer in virginia. he remembers the emptiness. the hunger.

the food stays, and so do the nightmares.
