“I’ve done decently not being nosy with Iain and Mari lately,” Shiv mused aloud. It had been a struggle, but she had decided it was for the best of that budding relationship. “The other day I considered bringing up the possibility of a double date, but I stopped myself. Don’t want to embarrass you or them because well, that’s what I’m way too good at.”
This was it. The inflatable obstacle course. She’d been less than victorious last year - not that she’d minded, honestly - but this year, there were bragging rights on the line. Luna stretched, eyes playfully narrowed on Ryan as she sized up her familiar foe. He was good, she’d give him that. Their board game rivalry was one for the books, and usually, it was anyone’s game. Today was no different. The sky was blue, the breeze was cool, and the promise of defeat hung in the air. His defeat, hopefully. “Beautiful day to get your butt whooped,” she put out there casually, eyeing him with a barely hidden smile. “Wouldn’t you say?” @ryan-carrcll
With both of the Alex’s still missing, Nate felt more of a need than usual to check on all of the remaining members of his pack. Beyond making sure they were okay, he wanted to see with his own two eyes that they were safe and accounted for. And in the case of this particular trip, he wanted to thank and commend Ryan and Allison for taking care of Mason during Evie’s brief disappearance. The baby couldn’t have been in better care, and it was because of them something worse hadn’t happened. For that, he owed them dearly. Giving the door a gentle knock, he waited patiently for someone to answer. When it was Ryan’s face that showed up on the other side, Nate gave the younger wolf a small smile, inclining his head in greeting. “Ryan. I hope I’m not interrupting anything, but I wanted to come by to see how you and Allison were doing. Do you have a moment, or should I come back later?” @ryan-carrcll
Calling Mother’s Day Blake’s favorite holiday was maybe an exaggeration, but only a slight one. Blake loved Mother’s Day. She loved receiving adorable presents, being pampered, and people telling her she was amazing, so it was basically her ideal sort of day. That was why, despite waking up an hour earlier, she was still lying in bed, wrapped up in blankets, stealthily reading her phone and listening for sounds of someone approaching. When she heard footsteps, she dropped her phone onto her floor, closing her eyes again and making soft snoring sounds.

There it sat, that sad chocolate cake with scratch frosting. It was really and truly hideous, but it was rich and tasty and that was all that mattered. Shiv liked to think of it as kind of a metaphor for herself. She was kind of a mess, but she was also kind of tasty. One thing was sure, she hoped that her brother did not decide to drop by from some impromptu visit to her humble abode because she was wearing next to nothing. Poor Iain didn’t need to be anymore traumatized than he already was.

There were certain threads Blake had become pretty familiar with. Certain people’s feelings she knew, instinctively. One in particular, she ignored aggressively. A few, she tended to let go if there was no reason to stress over them. And two that raised her panic every time she felt more than a flicker.
She felt a rush of blood to her head, like she’d just gone from being upside-down to right-side-up as she landed, taking a few deep breaths as she turned to look at her son. “Please tell me you’re okay,” she demanded, trying to keep her tone even.
