1. “I’m asking one thing of you. One.”
“Actually, you’re up to eight right now. And I did the other seven. I’m not doing this one.”
2. “I need your help. Let’s go save the world.”
“Yeah, no.”
“But—”
“Not interested. I’ve ended up in too many scary, life-threatening, and generally unpleasant situations helping you ‘save the world.’ I’m sure you can do this one without me.”
3. “I guess that time I helped you out means nothing to you, does it? Can’t even do this one little thing for me?”
“I guess the million one-little-things and the not-so-little things I’ve done mean nothing to you, do they? Can’t even accept this one little ‘no’ for me?”
