Bridgette is drunk is hilarious - but Geoff and Courtney spend so much time worrying about her.
it's renamed to @overclocks find me there
i know i talked about this yesterday but preemptively because whatever the hell is going on with this dash is getting worse, i'm getting like...a weird freeze in just the textbox now when typing so clearly this is not conducive to writing
@overclockstemp
i'm gonna rename it to overclocks shortly and queue up a bunch of i've mooved posts but let me be clear: nothing changes, i've just got to get on a blog that actually fucking works. i'll be moving my drafts and stuff over there and following people and shit but uh. this has gotta happen if i'm to get anything done at all.
i finally figured out what makes the current iron man run still technically ic while also being dull as dirt and shallow as hell, and it's really simple: duggan's basically copied bob layton's formula for storytelling, but the problem is while it's is technically ic, it lacks the spark (and passion if you want me to be real) of layton's stretch, because where duggan is writing what is, once again, the little caesers of iron man runs, it's clear he hasn't really tried to get into tony's head or understand his motivations, he's just going through the motions and following that formula with all the dispassion of a high school student doing a geometry proof, you feel me? he doesn't really care, and he doesn't have layton's talent, and it shows.
the framework is there, but he's writing characters that are way, way beyond his skill level, and while he manages a good moment every three issues, a good run this does not make. being better than slott and cantwell is not ringing praise, if you know what i mean and i think you do.
one thing that i don't think anyone gives enough praise for is the models/texturing for everyone's gear. it's not shiny and new and magazine cover perfect; it looks worn, it looks used, it's a thing that generally doesn't translate well in comics but is realistic, right, no one's gear - if it's being used and as hard as they use it - is going to stay unscuffed. it's gonna develop a patina and have chipped paint. leather's going to have creases, etc etc. it's just a good idea of what things put through the heavy use they do would look like with that use, and i think that's great.
if y'all see me replaying a-day leave me alone it's @shespy's fault and i want everyone to know it.
secondary follow up: i've done silver centurion, i've done model 3, i've done extremis, i've done the endo-sym, but what if my next aesthetic overhaul was the modular armor.
