It was natural for the other initiates to be eager to join the society as full fledged members and Kent hadn’t been as pressed to learn about them. If he didn’t know any better, he wouldn’t know the difference between most of them. After a couple of weeks without any change, it seemed necessary to at least nudge them in the right decision. It had been a surprise to see some interested and one person that rarely annoyed him was the Spanish noble. After a brief but productive conversation, Kit had agreed to meeting the other man at the society event. It was the right setting to talk about such matters and he had already made plans to attend the affair. 

The party itself was everything he thought it would be as he had been to a few others during his time in Melbourne. After a text to Garci about where he could be found, he ordered a drink to have while he waited. He was having a dry martini when he turned to see Garci by his side, nearly giving him a choking hazard. “There you are,” Kit managed finally, giving a twitch of a smile. “Thank you for meeting here. I thought it would be best here as I’m sure this fits into both of our schedules well. Enjoying your day so far?”

The opening ceremony had gone well and less busy than perhaps Theodore thought it might be. There was still a lot to be done, but having various dishes prepared and serving other guests had been a marvel. It was good he worked well with others, having had the experience and personality that allowed that. The team he had was a few people he remembered from other events but not the same caliber as the Olympics. It wasn’t his first time helping out around the Olympic teams as he had prior experience at the winter Olympics a couple years before. 

Theodore had just served someone at the counter, ignoring the starstruck gaze some people had. He knew that any other bartender might not have the same response, but there was an intimate number of people around the bar and the surrounding setup restaurant that made Theodore look forward to being front house. It wasn’t something he got the opportunity to do normally unless guests wanted to. When someone behind him announced the food he requested be made, Theodore smiled as he brought it to the Spanish noble sitting alone at the bar. He knew the royal only by the press and somewhat of the society as things had been said. “Thought you looked lonely so I thought this might keep you company,” he greeted with a smile, placing the dessert down in front of Garci. “If you want something else, just ask. If you need any other sorts of company, I am here as well.”
