Jayden felt a shiver running up his spine over the cold metal clasped around his wrist, he stared at the restraint for a while in confusion before his eyes flickered back to Damon, watching as he clasped the other end around his own wrist. “D-Damon?” he spoke softly before his wrist was being yanked as the other boy continued where they left off. Jay could appreciate the meaning of the cuffs being tied to both of them, but he couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable. The metal was cold against his skin and far too familiar, it didn’t help when the metal seemed to be getting tighter by the second.
his breath caught in his throat, his mind flashing back to a place he had been just the previous week, another type of cold metal against the skin on the inside of his wrists. That bite of metal felt more welcome than the one which was currently wrapped around him. “Damon.” he spoke a little louder, he could feel its sharp fangs tearing open old wounds, literally and metaphorically. He closed his eyes tightly, hoping the memories would flood away and he could focus on the boy above him, but he just couldn’t. The familiar warm, sticky feeling was trickling down his arm and he found himself pushing Damon off as tears pushed to the surface. “Take it off, fuck, fuck, take it off.” he exclaimed, his other hand pulling at the cuff. “Please take it off.” he all but shouted as he yanked uselessly at the metal contraption.

Jayden ran his fingers softly through the other boys hair, he could see that Damon was getting sleepy, his eyes drooping occasionally and their conversation had paused. Usually Damon would be talking Jayden’s ear off, thats how he knew the boy was tired. He bit down on his lip, continuing his hand movements before he began to sing softly. “This is a song about a boy, this is a song about love, love, love. “Damon, I don’t know how to do this.” he mumbled, really he was just swaying back and forth a little, his arms wrapped tightly around his boyfriend. He felt stupid, everyone else was slow dancing properly and had some kind of rhythm yet he had none. Even Damon was better than him. He sighed softly, leaning in to rest his head against the other boys chest. Aside from feeling stupid, it was kinda nice, romantic even. Just holding each other close and swaying to the soft melody in the background.
