With everyone coddling her and overwhelming her following the tragedy that struck at the festival, Lily knew exactly to whom she could escape for a couple of days. Liam’s door was always open to her, whether it be for a simple catching up session or something heavier like this. “Thanks for letting me stay here, Liam. And for taking care of Belle - more thankful for that,” Lily joked, although her smile didn’t quite reflect the playful emotion in her voice. “Wedding season doesn’t really start till mid-May, so I have some breathing room at least,” she mentioned with a sigh, the mere thought of catching up on work overwhelming her.
Hugging her knees into her chest and staring out the window, Lily was simply thankful for her close friend’s presence throughout this whole ordeal - especially considering what he’d experienced mere moments before her world came crashing down. “I feel like everyone is asking me how I am, if I need anything... but how are you?” she inquired, turning towards the man seated next to her. “I know you probably don’t want to talk about it, but I just wanted to ask. It’s been a rough week for everyone.”
