Send me 👥 + the name or role of another person in my muse’s life, and I’ll write a description of my muse from that person’s point of view.
There was a loving warmth in his eyes as Logan heard his daughter’s name. He settled down into a chair, removing his hat to reveal a head of thick auburn hair streaked with grey.
He had a thick Irish accent, but he was quick to wrangle it, clearly a very practiced art from years of being a lawyer.
“Well, I’ll be fair, I didn’t give her the best start. Her younger years, I was in law school, and she was being raised by my mum and her mum. She would lay with her head in my lap while I studied for my Bar exam. Honestly, a good kid, she just wanted attention.”
“A pretty little lass, you know. A shock of red hair and the bluest eyes you’d ever seen, and those freckles, lord the freckles. When she’d play in the sun they’d get worse!” Logan laughed, memories playing across his mind as he leaned back.
“You couldn’t ask for a better daughter, really. Sweet, smart, talented. Girl has the voice of an angel.” His smile dropped for a second.
“She’d hold her brother and sister as babies and sing to them. Every year for Jesse’s birthday, she’d sing to him. One year we got it on tape. Ah, he loved it. If there’s one thing that boy cares about, it’s his older sister.”
“So there I am, living what I can only describe as my best life...and things went south. Jules was taken. It...shattered my world. That’s my girl...my baby.”
It still hurt to this day.
“I thought I was going to lose her. It didn’t matter how much money I had to spend, I just wanted my girl. I didn’t sleep the entire time she was gone, and I’m sure I didn’t sleep after that, either. Not really. I spent as much time as I could in the hospital with her, but she was asleep for most of it...and I had statements to give, legal issues to handle..”
“Her recovery took a long time. Even getting her healthy enough to speak felt like ages. My beautiful, talented, darling girl...she is so strong. She pulled through and within days, she was able to speak again. Well...for a bit. She got quiet. Wouldn’t speak to anyone but me and her brother. Shied away from staff. Shied away from...everyone.”
Hurt creased his features.
“My baby girl. She had gone through so much, and all I remember is her worrying about everyone else. When she wasn’t confined to bed, or hiding from the world, she was bringing me tea and trying to please her mother.”
That also seemed to pull at him.
“I didn’t want to patronize her, you know? As bad as I just wanted to bundle her up and hold her forever, she wasn’t a baby anymore. I... just want the best for her. She’s moved past so much. I’ve watched her grow into a wonderful, caring, intelligent young woman who I am so, so proud to call my daughter. Anything she puts her mind to, she can do, and I am truly blessed to call her my kid.”
“Her kindness, strength and talent know no ends. I’m sure that she will change lives somehow. I...wish I had more time to spend with her. I can only hope that she knows that I love her more than anything on this earth. And no, there isn’t a person on this earth good enough for my daughter.”
