the ballroom was in disarray. the once peaceful palace had turned into a collection of shattered glass, overturned furniture, and spilled wine. the fates were in the middle of the mess, swords clashing and magic wielders sending spells that bounced off the stone walls.
loki had dropped to the floor, narrowly avoiding the stampede of footsteps. he grumbled under his breath as he watched the rebellion’s leaders fight off hunters and guards for the queen’s head, and right there in the middle was none other than his betrothed. “damn you, triss.” he hissed, crawling under a table.
feeling for his trusty daggers, he sprung out from his hiding place, hitting a soldier in the throat. slashing his way through the sea of guards, he made his way toward his fiancé, a sour expression on his face. “thank you for being so candid with your intentions for tonight, darling. what’s a successful marriage without trust?” he said sarcastically, elbowing a hunter in the face.
