"It typically doesn't." Marion told him, picking out the black flower. "I planted it here and gave it a little boost and now it grows like mad." She said a bit proudly, the heiress of Slytherin was quite proud of herself for it. "I guess it does help to listen to Sprout in herbology. That and potions go hand in hand I've come to realize." She told him, placing the flower into her basket.

"But, what is that I can help ya with, Blaise?"

"What?" Marion looked up from the potion recipe she was looking over. She had been writing down the ingredients that she would need to go gather but Feyre's words alarmed her enough to cause her to stop her work. "What do ya mean that the crow has moved?"

Feyre was right. The crow hadn't moved since it had shown up last spring and yet.... Marion felt her blood run cold. She had been so stupid to even think that it hadn't been something or someone spying on them.

"Feyre, did ya notice anything different?" The Slytherin heiress asked calmly, brown eyes studying her friend. "Anyone there or anything on the horizon? Any signs that someone could be coming near?"

The witch scowled at him, crossing her arms. Of course she hadn't thought that they all looked like goblins but seeing as she had never seen more fae, she couldn't say much. "No, but I do know that many of ya look like different animals and such. So why not a goblin?" Marion snarked, brown eyes narrowed at the red haired fae. High fae at that.

"You may not look like a goblin, fae, but ya sure act like one. Ya are a brute."

"Oh, I'm alright." Marion gave the redhead a smile, brown eyes looking up and meeting his russet eyes. He did have pretty eyes and a blush heated the witch's cheeks. He was Lysandra's cousin and also in the same house as the two of them. But there had been a shift in their relationship the last few months and that was now evident as they headed towards Hogsmeade.

"I just forgot my gloves is all." But damn, she wouldn't mind holding his hand to warm up her's. It was no secret, at least not to their friends, that the Callahans all had a higher body temperature thanks to the fire that ran through their veins.

"Fuck." Cassian growled as Marion jumped down from the tree limbs to meet up with the other two. She shared a look with Cassian who nodded.

"Then we fight our way out. There's no way out unless Marion can winnow us." He said but even still, Cassian wasn't going to back down from a fight and he knew that Azriel wouldn't either. Marion let her magic encase her hands as she looked between Cassian and Azriel.

"But you two are Illyrians and you don't back down." She gave them a pointed look. "Then we fight, right?"

“So what you’re saying” The brunette mused as she rolled over to face him in his bed. “Is that there will be a next time but you might buy me dinner first?” She asked, amusement clear in her brown eyes as she reached out and traced his chest with her finger. 

The two had found each other at the Masquerade Bruce and Carol had thrown the night before but it hadn’t been the first time they had met. No, the first time had been her saving him from some hitmen and the second time was him helping her out of the dumpster. She honestly wished that hadn’t been one of the times but she couldn’t change it. 

“How about you say it’s an absolute to dinner and we can do it again tonight, hm?”

Amusement filled her brown eyes as she gazed up at the redhead in the fox mask. He had definitely embraced the theme of woodland fantasy but then again so had she. Her own mask was a soft orange with black around the edges. It suited her and clearly, the fox theme wasn’t just her idea either. But she didn’t mind. 

“Is that so?” Marion teased, sipping her drink. It wasn’t her first masquerade event at the Waynes’ but it was the first time she had seen the redhead before and why couldn’t she have a little fun.

 “Are you going to keep me close then? Make sure I don’t get eaten by the wolves?”

The brunette glowered at him. “Well I’m not having a walk in the park.” The archer huffed as she winced, doing her best to stand up on the bags of trash. This, this had to be the very last time she ever agreed to go first over the boys. Falling into dumpsters seemed to always happen to her and then there was also that redhead that kept popping up. 

“I was actually going to take a nap but now that you’re here I think I’ll just get out of here.” But she was very well aware that he had seen her fall into the dumpster and that Jason and Drew could be heard laughing from above them. Oh she’d never hear the end of this from them. 

“But also shouldn’t you not be in strange alleyways late at night?”
