A First For Everything
Had liked to think he’d done a lot in his life, but even he would admit that this was a first. But then, he had spent a lot of time recently mourning his teaching career, missing opportunities to guide ready minds to new skills, and feeling generally lonely. So he was looking at this opportunity as an unexpected gift. Not to mention the literal gift of money that it came with.
It was with that mindset that he appeared on the doorstep of Malfoy Manor, armed with his wand and a satchel of specialty tools as well as his personal cookbook. There was a space on his right ring finger that felt empty, but he was about to enter the home of one of the oldest pureblood families in Britain. Even he didn’t need Alastor to remind him that it was better for Alex to just not have a husband at all today, rather than create a trail back to the head of the auror department.
He lifted the knocker once, and rapped it sharply three times before standing back to wait, unsure of what awaited him inside.
