🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
I always seem to be commenting on the weather and the seasons in my fics. This isn't intentional, it just happens. Especially the signs of the seasons! Leaves turning, crocuses in bud, different birds at different times of year etc. I am very aware of these myself so maybe that's why? Since I can't stop myself putting it in, I try to make it meaningful and fitting in the chapter, but without being so pat that it tips over into cliché. This is a tough balance and I'm not sure I always hit it!
In terms of themes, I think at the moment I always seem to be thinking about work, and what it means to find one's work meaningful. That's now pretty consistent across multiple fics in multiple fandoms, so I think that's enough for it to count as common!
💖 What made you start writing?
I honestly think I always have, ever since I could hold a pencil. I still have a journal from when I was six!
Both my parents were constantly telling stories. Mum read with us every night, and Dad used to make up stories for us. These either starred his own original characters, or occasionally it would basically be fanfiction of our favourites from books (mostly the continuing adventures of Postman Pat). He used to incorporate all our suggestions, no matter how wacky. So my first experience of making up stories was probably even before I could write, in collaboration with my family, and then once I could write writing my stories down along with my journal entries and poems seemed natural enough. I think my first stories were all absolutely terrible Narnia fanfiction.

I'm going to be honest: "comfort character" is a part of Tumblr vernacular that I don't really understand. If you can tell me what one is, I will do my best to answer!
