He’d wanted to know how the so-called ‘ascension candies’ and ‘descension candies’ worked. This... was unintentional.
The candies are not particularly difficult to get ahold of; many of the festivities currently going on involve their usage in some way, and the bowls appear to (magically?!) never run out of candy, meaning that there is a pretty good supply of both types of candy for anyone who wishes to make use of them. But... unfortunately, none of this matters when Peter is now too small to reach the bowl sitting atop the table.
Somehow turning himself into a bunny by eating one of the ‘ascension candies’ is his first mistake. Everything is huge. The tables loom over him, the candy bowls now an impossible distance away. Now, this is far from an ideal situation, but in theory it’s still a pretty solvable issue; after all, it’s not like the candies are so rare or anything, so even if he can’t access this particular table at the moment, surely there’s a bowl somewhere he can reach – right?
He goes looking for one. This turns out to be mistake number two. It’s surprisingly easy to get lost when you’re a fraction of your previous height. The forest in the Cotes Fantastci Ward (which, to be fair, he’s gotten lost in multiple times before – in his defense, it’s not like he has extensive experience navigating the woods!) seems even bigger now; bushes tower over him like trees, and longer patches of grass match him in height. And there are foxes in the woods – strange foxes that stand on two legs like people, but foxes nonetheless – and don’t foxes eat rabbits? Getting eaten is not something Peter’s ever had to worry about in his entire life until now, and he doesn’t particularly like the feeling.
Foxes are not the only creatures in the woods, however. There’s a heavy thud somewhere in front of him – is that someone’s shoe? A boot? Holy shit, it’s a giant.
❝ Eep? ❞
