The teacher had only just started introducing herself when the door crashed open, jolting Austin out of his daydream. A dark-haired boy in grubby clothes stood in the doorway, looking just as stressed as Austin felt.

“I’m late!” he wailed. “I missed the bus, and mom’s car is broke again, and–”

 “Don’t worry,” the teacher said with a reassuring smile. She glanced at the attendance sheet. “Beau is sick, so… Are you Beckett? Beckett Myers?”

“Uh-huh. Sorry, Miss,” he mumbled.

“It’s fine. Hurry and find a seat.”

He nodded and scurried into the room, throwing himself into the closest empty chair.

Remember back in Issue #13 that this random kid had to see all his friends and boss die to a giant robot? Yeah that guy? He's dead now.

No, like, he's genuinely dead. Destro's named goon killed him when he was painting a mural of Starscream. (Gi joe issue #9)

Missed opportunity to make him and Duke traumadump about that guy. They would've shared some drinks while they were at it.

So uh....on a scale of 1 to 10, is clutch gonna be beaten senseless by his robot alien hating brother? Yeah, springer is going to get captured by cobra anytime soon, it's just how it's gonna happen that I'm pondering about.
