“Your safety has higher importance,” the android said, trying to run diagnostics while still talking to the detective. His LED was flashing but it wasn’t anything serious. He had recovered from worse without requiring complicated reperations. “You can’t kill androids and my memory was already uploaded.” It wasn’t his fault that humans got sentimental about such things. He would be lying if he said he couldn’t understand why it was the case, but that hardly changed anything.

“Before you ask: No, there’s no reason to worry, I do not have an emotional side and I’m not allergic to air.”

By the tone it wouldn’t be hard guessing how Connor felt about this situation. Tears were streaming down his face and he couldn’t control it - he had tried to actively make it stop, but there was just nothing to be done and clearly he hadn’t been able to fix it himself. Hopefully someone from Cyberlife would be able to be there soon, so he didn’t have to deal with it anymore. 

One thing was the malfunction. It was frustrating, obviously. What made it even worse were the questions though, which was also why he had cut the other off before even giving them a chance to greet him.

“Of course they are. They are Androids. You can easily recognize them on the LED and the uniform they’re supposed to wear. It gets more difficult if they’re deviant and are in disguise. It’s easier for another android to tell than it is for a human.”

“Destiny is just a concept humans made up to explain events they can’t understand otherwise. They chose who to befriend and who to fight alongside. I’m merely doing as I’m instructed to.”

 Abe grinned at the other. “It’s nice of you to have my back Connor but I can protect myself too, you know.” He stated with his gun at the ready. “You’re just as easy to break as I am after all.” He pointed out lightly. “Okay, maybe not that breakable but you get my point I hope. Try to treat yourself like you’re worth protecting as well. And I’m not just saying that because Hank will kick my ass if I don’t.”  

“It is part of my program to protect the humans I’m partnered up with,” he neutrally stated. He appreciated the words, but he just wasn’t in a big of a risk as a human. Even if he got destroyed they would just replace him and upload his memory. It had happened before. “But I will try to stay safe. Me being replaced seems to cause discomfort.” Hank seemed almost traumatized by that one time it happened, maybe Abe would feel the same.

“You want to piss me off?”

“I don’t want to piss anyone off. Please just follow me or I will have to force you to.”

It was a stern look he gave the android and he did not look like he was about to back off anytime soon.
