PSA!

This isn’t rp related in any way or form. Just can’t stop myself from reacting when I see fake news starting to spread around social media.

Just saw an American acquaintance post an article on Facebook about how Danish cops are handling protests well. In case that’s actually a thing that people say or share I just wanted to tell anyone who might have come around something like that: Don’t trust it. Danish cops are crooked and violent. They’re just very aware of the media and how they’re portrayed. Ask just about any brown-skinned, leftwing political or Muslim Dane.

Don’t be like Denmark. Can’t speak for my Scandinavian friends and family, but I’m imagining it’s not anything better in Norway or Sweden.

Scandinavia does a lot of things right. The police force just isn’t one of those things.

Inactivity update

Putting it under the cut just ‘cause.. Honestly none of you have to read this, I just wanted to be honest about why I’ve been entirely away.

Quick sum up: I’m sorry I’ve been away, but I have my reasons. It might still be a while before I’m back. If you want to drop threads because of this it’s obviously okay with me, but please let me know!

I’m pretty sure you’re all well aware that all this Covid19 is messing up everything. I’ve been hospitalised with it, but fortunately my body handled it pretty well and I’ve been let super easy off compared to what a lot of people are going through.

I have lost a friend to this and one of my uncles is currently hospitalised, so things are obviously very personal to me. Whenever I’m browsing the internet to just keep myself entertained while things are still somewhat on lockdown (the university is, anyway) I run into articles and people claiming that all this is just a conspiracy and that the virus isn’t bad and all that shit. It makes me furious and sad and drains my energy and especially my energy for being online.

I’ve seen Tumblr posts with it too and blocked users posting them. I’m just not having it.

Stay safe out there! I might return soon or maybe it’ll still take a while. I honestly don’t know. If you want to drop threads it’s okay.

see, i know i keep posting ooc stuff about being slow. this is just another one of those.

something’s draining me hard and it’s very likely a combination of this whole world situation and the fact that my meds have been unbalanced.

Connor looked at the detective, raising his brows with a curious look on his face. “I'm sorry if my presence is making you uncomfortable, detective.” A hint of a smirk twisted the corner of his mouth as he moved a few steps closer to Gavin. This was what happened when an android like Connor didn’t have a task to focus on.

“Due to my design I won’t just go into a standby mode. Would you have preferred that?” He wasn’t asking because he was going to adhere to the detectives preferences, but just because he was curious. He didn’t know Gavin as well as Hank, which made it harder to feel like he was a step ahead in a conversation.

“Whoa whoa whoa… it’s okay! It’s okay…”

“What’s got you all riled up?”

“Really? That’s what you’re scared of? You?”

“I don’t want to talk about why. So don’t ask.”

“It affects you that badly…? I had no idea…”

“What are you trying to do, scare me?”

“WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?!”

“You need to stop this… looming you do.”

“A cowards way out, how disappointing.”

“Alright that’s my terrify quota finished for the day.”

“This is one thing you should be afraid of, yet you choose to be a fool instead.”

“You’re shaking. You’re not scared… you’re terrified.”

“I don’t need to hold hands- y’know what I’ll take that offer.”

“Fear always has me, I’m just trained to continue onward regardless.”

“STOP. With your SPOOKING… now!”

“You terrify me sometimes.”

“Why were you scared of me all this time?”

“Oh just get over it. It’s mind over matter.”

“Yes, it’s an irrational fear. That’s what phobia literally means.”

“With fright, often comes stupidity and manic decisions to follow.”

“Fear makes a great paralyzing agent.”

“Get away from me- you get away from me!”

“I’m scared. I don’t know what to do I’m scared…”

“Focus on me, and snap out of it. We can’t have you clamming up right now!”

“It’s holding you back, are you going to keep letting it like a coward?”

“I said you should FUCK OFF!” Gavin shouted into Connors face. The fucking tin can was going on his nerves. But he knew better not to assault him directly in this bar, the memories of what happened in the archive room were still fresh in his mind and he was still rational enough to know it would just end the same way.

“I’m not on-call duty, dipshit, they can’t just drag me to work in my actual free time.” even it the laws around work times were not as strict as in other countries, they were still there. And while Gavin loved being on stand by to get called in for another homicide, he still was required by law to actually take some down time. Or else he would have never gotten drunk on a work day. Gavin loved the work as a police officer too much to risk it by drinking too much.

The little brawl with Connor got him in serious trouble so he watched his ass pretty thoroughly. He would be sober enough to get to work by tomorrow, Connor didn’t need to worry about that. “And now, can you please fuck off and leave me to my drinking?” there, he even said please, even though it sounded very pissed. 

“I heard you before” the android stated, still keeping his tone neutral although he was purposely being impertinent. He had always disliked how Gavin talked to him and now he was just doing as he was told. It was no secret that he didn’t prioritize any order Gavin would throw at him very high. He did take note of what he was saying though, realizing that there was a chance lieutenant Anderson had been lying to him.

He looked the detective over while his eyebrows drew to a slight frown. This was another human seemingly obsessed with drinking as soon as work didn’t require them not to. It was a quick conclusion and also one Connor didn’t keep in his records; he didn’t know enough about Gavin’s personal life to be able to make a proper analysis. 

“Lieutenant Anderson instructed me to go and find you,” he then finally said, after deciding he trusted Hank more than Gavin. He didn’t have any other reason for it than the fact that his instructions were to work with the lieutenant and not the detective and even now he had an idea that he wasn’t processing the information right. “He’s back at the station, he...” There, it hit him. He wanted a break. The android turned his head a little, now not facing Gavin directly, as he realized. “My apologies, detective. I must have been misinformed.”

Connor had deliberately waited until he’d caught a glimpse of the sun to speak. He had rested during the night, but not much. It had just never been part of his program to really do that and because he hadn’t reason to adapt to that particular human habit it had just gone entirely past him that it was something he even could do.

“Do you think we can get back to Kamski’s house unnoticed? He would have noticed you’re gone, wouldn’t he?” Worrying was usually always first on his list. Before deviating he had called it ‘focusing on the task at hand’. Now he had just been quiet for hours, so he felt like it was okay to start speaking about his worries again.

for some reason i can’t use google chrome because the browser just won’t open. can’t use xkit in safari. might be posting replies anyway, but as a start i’ll try to fix my browser problem first.

also because for some reason safari makes it a pain to write tags because sometimes it just doesn’t allow me to press space?

idk this laptop is a mess
