Scorpius wiped the sweat from his forehead with his arm,  trying to avoid getting dirt in his face,  but failing and wiping a streak across it.  The humidity in the green house was getting to him.   ❝Ugh.  Repotting these stupid things are more work than I  thought.❞   He carefully extracted the bubotuber from the pot it had outgrown.   He plopped it into the next pot,  then giggled a little when it bounced.   He looked over at Aurora,  grinning a little still.   ❝Thanks for being my partner.❞

❝I like all my classes.   I kinda wish I could have taken all the electives,  but I like the ones I have.❞   Scorpius explained,  looking down and playing with the sleeves of his shirt.   ❝School is going well,  but   ---   ❞   He cut himself off with a quiet sigh.   ❝I dunno,  everyone still thinks I’m weird,  I guess.    I don’t really care,  but no one wants to be my partner when we have to pair up in Care of Magical Creatures.   And then I have to work with the professor and it’s kinda   . . .   embarrassing.❞   He mumbled.

With hands behind his back,  Scorpius entered the room.   He was extremely bad at being  sneaky.   ❝Hey,  mum.❞  He said,  clearly holding back a smile.   He brought his hands from behind his back,  beaming with joy at the bouquet of flowers.   ❝I picked these myself out in the garden !  I know I’m not supposed to use magic at home,  but  I put a little tiny charm on them so that they won’t wilt so fast.❞

Scorpius was laying in the grass on his stomach,  propped up on his elbows and spinning the flower he’d just picked between two fingers.   He started shredding the petals,  flicking them away as he tore them off.   ❝Do you think Divination is real?❞    Since class earlier that day,  Scorpius had been quiet.   ❝I mean,  it’s a class for a reason,  isn’t it?❞

Scorpius furrowed his eyebrows as his gaze rose from the book of charms and essay that was spread out on the table in front of him.   He shook his head as he interrupted.    ❝   --   It’s okay.   I’m fully aware that no one wants to talk to me.❞   He looked back down at his his school book,  flipped a page without pulling out his wand or verbalizing the spell.   Clearly,  he was  very good  at Charms.   ❝Probably you included,  so you don’t have to pretend.❞

Despite the fact that Scorpius often tried to stifle his curiosity when talking to people,  out of politeness and not wanting to sound weird  ( or creepy ),  he couldn’t hold back.

❝History isn’t exactly on Slytherin’s side.  I mean,  with all the pureblood   mania and the Death Eaters and the Basilisks and  ---  ANYWAY,  we   have some good points too.  Merlin was a Slytherin,  and he was the   greatest Wizard of  all time.  Gryffindors just get all the glory because   you lot are loud.  And you guys break the rules all the time.  I bet if we   went by who has the most detentions it would be GRYFFINDOR.❞  He mock chanted the house name.

He grinned,  despite what he’d just said.  He was teasing,  more or less.  He had a few friends in every house !  It was just most fun to pick on the Gryffindors.
