Top 10 worst places to be during the events of ASOIAF:

10. The Iron Islands: imagine being gay or a woman or gay and a woman in the iron islands. everyone is insufferable, their religion is fake as shit AND you have to deal with all the greyjoy bullshit. no thanks.

9. Volantis: TERRIBLE weather. every character who goes there spends the whole time complaining about how shitty it is. most of the population is enslaved and the city is a brewing hotpot for war and rebellion. probably stinks.

8. King's Landing: the realm capital, so pretty much every conflict that arises is going to affect you directly. smells like literal shit, the population is always starving and the whole city is a ticking timebomb laced with wildfire that is 100% going to explode in the next books. cersei lannister is also there.

7. The Shadow: tbh I'm not sure what's going on there but it doesn't look good. no place that produced girlboss supreme melisandre of asshai can be normal or good or pleasant.

6. Beyond The Wall: winter is coming and we are all going to die. whole place is so doomed its entire population is trying to leave. an actual metaphor for climate change. there are also zombies.

5. The Red Waste: very hot.

4. Slaver's Bay: you read the books I don't need to explain it.

3. The Sorrows: cursed river. the water is literally haunted and if you stay there long enough you get super cancer. probably stinks.

2. Valyria: literal hell. can also give you another kind of super cancer. the sea is on fire and god is dead.
