well its not much just something I started thinking about while writing a fic I gave up on. people usually make castle black a military school or something like that which makes sense but I personally dont like that whole aesthtic so to me its just this very strict and traditional all boys boarding school which has historically produced some notable alumni and is still respected (mainly in the north) but nowdays is seen as a place for troubled kids. jon joins because the family is starting to move to kings landing and he doesnt feel welcome and all that canon stuff (he was still raised as neds bastard and cat hates him etc) and also because he really likes his uncle benjen who is an alumni and a teacher there.

so he goes and all the nights watch members are teachers and stuff mormont is the headmaster aemon is the nurse dolorous edd is a janitor etc. and also the stannis crew is also there because its funny. stannis is the worlds most boring history teacher and melisandre teaches the chemistry lab but she likes fire a bit too much and has a taste for the theatrics so everyone is afraid shell set fire to the school one day. everyone is as insane as always but with regular school jobs and also no one dies because that would be crazy. sam is jons roomate of course and he also makes friends with pyp grenn and satin. it would be a typical coming of age story with jon growing into himself and learning how to lean on people especially after his dad die without him having had a chance to see him since he left

the free folk are just the people from the town who attend regular school and have regular jobs and they have mad beef with the academy for some reason but jon ends up making friends with them because hes just a nice guy. ygritte is in a band with val before she moves away and leaves jon very sad. alys kastark is also part of the friend group and sigorn is just a 17yo with a receading hairline. idk what the whitwalkers would be maybe an evil company that wants to do some sort of development that would completely fuck the town so the free folk and the people of the school need to work together. its all very stereotypical coming of age movie but I feel like jon snows deserves a d-com. mance rayder owns a music shop.
