In the kitchen, Roman looked over at the time display on the microwave and took in a deep breath as he opened the fridge to grab a cola. Just a few hours prior, he learned he fathered a child twelve years ago and he was still processing the fact he had a fourth child. Overall, it was great news he loved children and always wanted a large family. Yet, that gnawing feeling scratched at him as he wondered if he would be a bad father all over again. Make similar mistakes he made with the first three and have another son that hates him. And of course, how would Sofia handle the news? She would be home any minute now and he was not sure she could handle any more surprises when it comes to him.
The rattling at the front door indicated Sofia was home and he turned to see her step through the door. “Hey babe,” he said quietly, his tone evident that not everything was okay. Roman walked into the living area to softly place a kiss on his lady’s forehead. “I know you just got home, but can we talk please? I just found out some news and honestly, I am not sure how you are going to handle it.” Right now, he just wanted to be upfront with her. The two worked too damn hard on their relationship and he wanted to be honest with her.
