jinho sat on the sofa his notes spread out carefully on the coffee table in front of him, he had a stack of papers he was flipping through from work. he hadn’t liked to bring things home from work preferring to keep his home and work life separate from the other. although he had decided to bring some files home as he penned away some of the notes into a journal for him to look back on at a later time.
also after what had occurred between him and minwoo in the archives he had been keeping his distance from the older hwang. it seemed they both had a similar idea, both of them working to keep their exchanges brief. jinho had realized in his haste to leave the office he left a few of the files he had requested from the archives on his desk, so he had asked ara if she would go pick them up for him.
he wasn’t too keen at first to hiring an assistant, especially when the assistant was his friend. jinho didn’t like the idea of bossing around someone or having them do tasks he was very capable of, but ara was persistent and he knew that she would only pester him until he caved in. he decided (she decided) that he needed her help, that he would be lost without her, and right now he could admit to himself and minnie who was snuggled up on the couch next to him he was grateful she was extending herself like this for him. he often thought wasn’t very deserving of her friendship.
a knock at the front door has jinho sitting up, he notices minnie’s ears twitch at the arrival of someone her head perks up as well, he sets down the papers on the armrest wondering who would be knocking on the door, when he gets up, walking down the hall to the entrance he unlocks the door pulling it open and is faced with ara, he raises his eyebrows in surprise. “did you lose the key i gave you, since when do you knock?” he asks without missing a beat.
