I would love to know more!!! No pressure!!! Mine was made up on the spot haha, but do you have an au in mind for falk x sin x suri? (How do Falk and Sin end up in Suri's playthroughs?)
Hello, PD beloved! Thank you for this question!!
Alas, I don’t have an au for them, but you have had me thinking about the possibilities (I love your mind so much). Though ever since it was announced that there would be the opportunity for a villain romance in book four, and meeting Li-Sar, I have been thinking of the possibilities of others that could be romanced. For Suri, that would have been Falk and Sin
To me, Falk and Sin are not villains per se, but the antagonists of their story. Murphy, villain. The Auctioneer, villain. Li-Sar is truly a villain and I am very excited to get into the romance in the next book (I usually don’t really do the villain romances but I am intrigued!).
For Suri, Falk and Sin (separately):
Falk: It took me several playthroughs to understand it all with Falk. With Suri, and Suri on the Nate route, there is just so much unresolved sexual and romantic tension built up through the route. She’s teetering on the edge the entire time, she thinks she’s falling in love, Adam gave Nate a warning and she only heard Nate agree, then she kissed Bobby, (I think) Nate kissed her jaw sometime later … and Falk came through her mirror, and there was something simmering between them, too, and her sleepy mind was all a jumble … and given the chance? Well, Suri is only human! In need of a pop off valve! (idk if she would have slept with him but a make out session would be more likely) In the playthrough, Suri maintained high Falk points (while telling him she didn’t agree with his form of judgement), and was able to save both Nate and Sanja and get the Maa-Alused to sign the treaty - best outcome for everyone
Now, outside of a Nate romance! Suri would still be upset at Falk and the Maa-Alused actions - that is her town, those are her friends, and she wouldn’t understand why he chose there to set up and start the judgements that made people ill. There would be an intrigue with Falk, there would be a deeper need of understanding with him, and she would have liked to forge a friendship. To start. If he came in through the mirror, waking her up, she would have invited him in, further into her room and well, her bed. I don’t necessarily see her falling in love with him, but I see her wanting to know more about him and his family, specifically. See her ensuring the Agency keeps them happy. They’d have a long-term friendship. With occasional (more than occasional) benefits
Sin: Oh, I love Sin! One of my favorite characters, and I really would have loved to have seen more of him and gotten to get to know him better. During the playthrough, Suri was dating Nate so no sense of any sort of romantic feelings for Sin. She was truly, madly, deeply in love with Nate and declared it. She did flirt with Sin a few times, because she enjoys flirting, and took that approach with Sin to try to keep her and the woman alive in the crumbling warehouse. At the auction, Sin declared his alliance with her but not to the Agency. Which is better than she could have hoped for. Really, she felt so terrible for him with the false soul bond, and it made her happy that she could see him finally free to live his life
Suri outside of a N romance, or anyone romance? Could and possibly would have felt some sort of deep ache in her chest with Sin, and after learning about the soul bonds? Would have wondered if maybe they … the two of them … could see if there was possibly a real soul bond between them. Of course, not something she’d broach during the story. She would have been focused on saving the children, rescuing Tapeesa, shutting down the auction, and breaking the false soul bond (she might have asked Farah and Nate’s help with that, if it didn’t happen when the auctioneer met whatever ending they had - they were taken in on my playthrough). But when Sin is about to leave, telling her he would be aligned/loyal to her — well, she’d ask him to find her again, soon, after it all settles. She’ll keep the Agency at bay, or at least ask Rebecca to keep the Agency at bay. The yearning to come would be real, she would think the time spent waiting would be worth it. Because she feels it, and hopes that it’s real, and he feels it, too (she is a romantic at heart, and knows when it’s there, she’ll know it in the depths of her soul)
One thing that would be different with these romances versus with Li-Sar, I don’t think she will as worried about Unit Bravo’s reactions (they’ll likely be far more understanding). They will still be her closest friends
Thank you again so so much for asking! This was a lot of fun to think about
