Skywarp dismissed the nagging notifications plaguing his brain module. Right now, he didn’t give a single scrap about the numbers ticking away in his head; all he knew was hunger, and there wasn’t a single energon cube in sight. Well, not immediately, anyway.
He continued walking, crimson optics and sensor suites scanning the area in his single-minded search for something that might stop that constant emptiness.
That was when he found it; a single crystal, left lying on a desk unattended.
It wasn’t energon and it wasn’t much larger than a single finger, but it did seem to be capable of holding a charge. The seeker picked it up for a closer look, tilting his head and frowning at the strange object. Some small part of him had a faint sense of déjà vu, though that was quickly buried under another override prompt.
And then he tried to chew on the crystal.
“You aren’t going to get very far with that.”
The voice behind Skywarp is soft and dry, the brush of a tarp over the sharp edge of plating. Faintly accented, definitely outdated, and overlaid with the gentle concern of a medic frame.
If the little orange mech it was connected to was a medic, he must turn into, like, a toothbrush, or something.
When one lives in close quarters, one becomes used to the comings and goings of others at all hours; at first Rung had thought nothing of the mech poking his head into the small, empty office he’d decided to claim for the moment. There was always movement and sound, now, and while he was grateful for the constant activity and kinetic chaos, like most older Cybertronians– not that there were too many of them around, at this point– Rung required a significant amount of recharge in comparison to the Warbuilds and Constructs and every other modern categorization. He’d just managed to quiet his systems and slow down enough to hopefully snatch a joor or two…
…Only for internal alarms to go off, bright and blinding across his projected HUD, as the mech poking about picked up the crystal he’d drawn out from digging into his internal tubing and bit it. Leaving it out had been a poor idea, but extraction was always exhausting, and disorienting. He’d not even realized he’d forgotten it on the tabletop.
Not that it was viable. Not enough materials and charge for that.
Prying open one of the compartments in his chassis, Rung pulls out a packet of (admittedly a bit old) rust sticks, holding it out between the tips of his fingers towards the flightframe.
“I’ll trade you, there. How about that? You can have the whole packet, if you don’t try to eat the photon crystal. I can personally attest that it won’t go over well in your systems, my friend.”
