the thing about the golden flowers in undertale is that they were originally CHARA'S thing. when they were dying, they told Asriel that their last wish was to see the golden flowers in their village again.
but a monster can't cross the barrier. so Chara died without seeing the flowers.
and when Asriel died, he dragged the flowers back With him.
the flowers are noted somewhere that they're "sticky". so easy to accidentally take with you. then where Asriel died, is where more golden flowers grew. becoming Asgore's garden.
seen a theory once about the flowers. there's only three locations they pop up. the very start of the game (presumably Chara's grave), the very end (the barrier), and... the dump? yeah. Alphys. because she was working with one of the flowers (that would soon awaken with Asriel's consciousness), she must've done the same thing Asriel did and dragged them with her. since she frequents the dump, yeah. makes sense.
anyway sorry if this is hard to understand i've got a lot of thoughts. what i was trying to say is the flowers are originally Chara's thing, but then sorta became Asgore's thing, interestingly. since he tends for the flowers Asriel brought back. Undyne mentions that Asgore's favourite tea is golden flower tea. his son is now a golden flower.
also another thing i wanna bring up that upsets me is Asgore declaring that any human that falls down will be killed. which started because. a human fell. and he adopted them.
okay so Chara died, Chara didnt like humanity. and Chara wanting to see the golden flowers got Asriel killed BY other humans. That's why Asgore declares war. because the humans killed his son.
it's the fact that he adopted Chara. and he declared war because of Chara. but not because OF Chara. like he loved a human, took care of them like his own child, and then turns around and is like kill them all.
and since Chara didnt like humanity do you think they liked humans being killed /silly 😭😭😭
