What lay before her was nothing like she'd imagined - nothing like what they'd been told to expect from the Asphodel and drow. So many reports of the Otherworld falling to ruin, destruction not unlike the inferno itself, and yet, the lush gardens sprawled out before her felt almost ethereal; if one ignored the myriad of bodies strewn across the battlefield. How had she gotten here? Her place at base camp remained of little importance, and truthfully, Serissa still had yet to figure out what she could offer in such a time - but how could this be what they raged war over? How could the deathly vy for land - for possession of this other realm be worn down to the necromancers and drow destroying the home of the Elandrin. Was that the truth? "Is this a joke?" She mutters to herself, trying to find reason every which way she turned - it simply didn't add up. She reached for her blade, noting the armor gleaming brightly, the shining light of her weapon splitting it into two, medium-weight swords as if her mind had simply wielded it. The angel of war within her veins, out here, she felt more at ease. "Avery?" Confusion wrecked her in spotting the raven-haired witch - she'd not seen him for what felt like days since the Dahlia set up much of base camp, forming refuge for the injured and vulnerable to remain. "What are you doing out here? I thought you were..-" Actually, she hadn't paid him much thought; the further away from her he was, the better. At least she didn't need to taste the bitterness of his abandonment as brutally as she did if he wasn't near. "Vivianne was looking for you."
