usually sitting in the library was her only safe space from being able to feel other people’s emotions and hearing their thoughts. it was her quiet place, her home away from home, because everyone that came to the library came here for peace from their own world. but the woman sitting across the room from her had the loudest feelings. she was going through something but crystal couldn’t make it out. her empathy was running on high emotion and she couldn’t focus on her studies. she didn’t even realize that she was staring at the high-thinking woman.
