for each “⭐️” I get, I’ll write a headcanon about our muses.
if he ever does discover n’s ability to talk to pokemon, he would be incredibly intrigued, but also a little saddened, especially if at one point, he also learned of his backstory. the ability to talk to pokemon is a rare ability amongst humans, even those who primarily fall under the aura category that it belongs to. for such a rare, difficult ability to be developed naturally is a wonder to him, but because it is categorized as an aura ability ( hence why lucario, the aura pokemon, can even talk to humans given enough training ) and aura is affected by the mental state and emotions of its user, for n to develop such a specific, sparse ability on his own must have meant that he was unimaginably lonely. to develop that kind of ability probably meant that his situation had gone beyond just social isolation, but complete isolation from civilization, meaning that he only really had pokemon for company, who were the natural denizens of the wild. that intense loneliness must have triggered something in his aura which allowed him to develop such a specific ability that under normal circumstances would have taken harsh training to develop, and although it’s amazing, it’s also incredibly tragic.
considering that he learned of his ability before he heard his backstory, this would probably be what he’d surmise. should n tell him his backstory afterwards, sadly, i can’t say that riley would be too surprised.
