“Eddie Diaz,” Buck declared, a lopsided grin quirking at the corners of his mouth as he bounded into the café, full of energy as always. Eddie wasn’t sure this guy even needed to be drinking coffee. “I’m here with a really important task for you. Wait – is your name even Diaz?”
The familiarity of the way Buck spoke to him should have felt weird, given this was the third time he’d ever met the man, but Eddie couldn’t help the warm feeling that expanded in his chest as Buck bounded to the counter, clearly in uniform, a radio strapped to his chest. “It’s Diaz,” he reassured. “What can I help with?”
