The plastic cup that still held at least half of a vodka slushie swirled back and forth in her hand as she poured from the flask of gin she'd stashed in the back pocket of her pants. One, two, three... -- four shots worth. And a pinch of cotton candy. Of course, Daniela wasn't obligated to attend the carnival, but she'd never really been able to shy away from community events. The last ten years had simply found her in other communities, and now.. - well, now the consequences of what she'd done were biting at her ankles like great white sharks, and if she couldn't bury herself in the sand again, the least she could do is get drunk.
