Lore hadn’t exactly expected to head to the Olympics in 2018 and make friends, but when it had been decided that she’d be rooming with another girl from Kingscrest, the friendship had essentially fallen into her lap. Two girls who had been chosen to room together due to their mutual city of origin, they’d gone to PyeongChang with a ton of hopes and dreams and had come back with medals. It had been the ultimate bonding experience.
And even now, two years later, they were still pals. Somehow. Even though Lore couldn’t tell you the first thing about snowboarding. One or two times a month they got dinner together, using the time to catch up on each other’s lives and to serve as a cheat day for any sort of diet they were currently required to be under. That evening was no exception. Lore had been daydreaming about pasta for days, and the restaurant in the Astoria had the best.
“Is it just me, or are the brand deals getting weirder and weirder?,” she asked, taking a sip of her water (they couldn’t cheat that much) before continuing. “We don’t even know who is going to be going to Beijing yet but Crest 3D Whitestrips is being very persistent.”
