his father was an official. his mother was nothing but a tale for him to cling to.
violence is second nature to him, as it is to almost everyone on thulniotune. he grows up accustomed to fiery anger and words that sting as much as the harsh bite of the wind. tenderness is foreign and because he’s never experienced it, he never longed for it.
he finds his calling in the weapons industry of the planet when he tinkers with his father’s weapons. eventually, he leaves home without so much as a ‘bye’ to learn from the planet’s very best.
fast forward to celeste’s thirteenth birthday and he hears his father’s name on the tv screen in his mentor's workshop. it’s safe to say that laiex wasn’t surprised to find out about his father’s corrupt nature. his mentor joins an underground rebellion once the planet was captured by the mallenia, protecting his planet and spilling the blood of countless invaders.
his mentor doesn't return, but they win, of course.
as a result, war is born.
so jump to the present day, where laiex now works as a weapons specialist for the militia, working together with other likeminded tec to crush the opposing forces under their heel. as for recreational time? that is spent hunting down what remains of the mallenia for some extra cash.
