never so big
@hoseokxep
the steam rises in spurts when he slips inside -- fingers and toes first, then long, firm legs, a clash of bones at the hip, the slim shape of his torso. only his shoulders spill past the gentle tread of water; they remind of wading ships tied to the bay, waiting, patient with their unrest.
he brings candles but doesn’t burn them, not yet; instead they clutter the edges of the bath like an unsightly audience. none of them are even, noe remembered, but the memory still remains: a lingering sentiment of wanting class, elegance. things he’s come to treasure in the most obscure of places.
and he tries to find it in hoseok across from him, but the water is too warm, melts way at whatever act he puts on. it singes at his image; leaves him as bared as his body is; nude and joyful.
soon, as if by the hands of an unseen maestro, the true music of his thoughts begin, lays over the water; fills the air with the gentle tune of his voice.
“all i’m saying is i could take a bear on -- like, without magic. because i figure i don’t have to beat him entirely? i just have to scare him into not killing me and i’l be fine. like maybe a punch to the nose? maybe i’ll start yelling, too, and try to intimidate it. you think you could take one on, hoseokie? you’re so thin... you probably won’t look as appetizing to bears.”
