bluebell : does your muse learn from their past , or are they prone to repeating the same mistakes ?
Poseidon definitely learns from his past mistakes. Though his temper and pride often lead to impulsive actions, he is not so blind as to ignore the consequences of his choices. That said, Poseidon is not infallible.
His emotions can cloud his judgment at times, especially when provoked (see: Odysseus), leading him to make decisions that echo past mistakes. But with each mistake, there’s a part of him that grows more measured, more thoughtful.
Having Hel by his side has also given him an extra ear to lend his thoughts to; she's often the one he goes to when he has to make a decision, and he places her opinion on these decisions very highly. If she doesn't agree with him, he'll re-think his approach to a situation out of respect for her.
More often than not, he will always think about whether or not his actions will reflect poorly onto Hel or their children.
willow : how does your muse handle sadness & depression ?
Poseidon is one of the gods who rarely wears his emotions openly to those he isn't close to. Unless you're Hel, you will very likely never see him show something like sadness; however, this doesn't mean it's impossible to know.
While he's good at suppressing himself on the outside, storm clouds will rapidly appear and it will start to rain to signify his tears.
However, as a question of how he handles these emotions; not very well. Unfortunately for him, he is also one of the gods who feels his emotions strongly; especially his anger. But his entire demeanor changes when he's undergoing a depression.
Using Amphitrite's disappearance as an example, Poseidon's demeanor shifted and he closed himself off from his siblings. He searched endlessly to find her, and when it was decided that there was no finding her, he went into a rage-filled depression and isolated himself after drowning Kythnos, one of the islands blessed by Athena.
