one of the things i’ve noticed people complaining about is the fact that in the detective pikachu trailer, purin/jigglypuff is fluffy and not smooth, as they expected it’d be
but people seem to be forgetting that it’s mentioned that pukurin/wigglytuff is a very fluffy pokémon, and the same is implied for pupurin/igglybuff!!
pukurin’s crystal pokédex entry states: “the rich, fluffy fur that covers its body feels so good that anyone who feels it can't stop touching it.” and pupurin’s alpha sapphire entry states that it “has a soft and plushy body that feels very much like a marshmallow.”
so pukurin is outright stated to be fluffy, and pupurin’s “plushness” also seems to be implying that it’s also pretty fluffy. to me, it makes sense that purin would also be fluffy, just like it is in the detective pikachu trailer!
i know not everyone likes the design choices and that’s all down to personal preference of course, but maybe this’ll make people feel less uncomfortable about that aspect of purin’s design, at least!
