While Ib has not known the boy for very long at all, she feels as if it be a good idea to give him a present of some sort for being so kind to her, especially since it's Christmas Day and all. And so does the child present a bouquet of daffodils to the other-- grape hyacinths of blue and Japanese anemone of white to accent it. " Merry Christmas, Allen. " She hopes that you like it.
Gingerly accepting the bouquet, careful as to not damage the flowers, his mind was reeling back to a book of flower meanings that Chelsy recommended to him a few months back. Daffodils were … symbolism of rebirth and new beginnings, yes? Hyacinths had a greek legend associated with them, so it was a flower for sport/play… since they were specifically blue, they were expressing sincerity. As for Japanese anemones… he wasn’t sure if their meaning will be any different due to its different nationality, but he knew that anemones brought luck.
Well, regardless of whether he was correct or not, he truly did appreciate the beauty of them. Thank you, Ib.
The young girl will not go on unrewarded from Allen though. While it wasn’t as well-thought out as Ib’s present, he hoped that she’ll enjoy it. A red box, nothing too big and nothing else to decorate it other than a pristine, silk white ribbon sitting on top of it. If she were to open it, she’d find hand-made gingerbread men cookies with huge, frosted smiles on their faces. “Merry Christmas, Ib.”
