🗣 what do you think of Anna Lightwood?

oh boyyyyy, my story with anna is kinda complicated, so lemme (try to) make it brief.

orange waistcoats is my anti-anna tag. daily reminder to block it with you don't wanna see anna negativity on your dashboard.

reading EET, i loved anna. i was sure she was gonna be a favorite of mine and i started chog every excited about her storyline. but anna's appearances really let me down - both in terms of quantity and quality. i'm ashamed to say that i forced my self to put her on my first chog top 5 - as well as matthew - because i felt like i owned them that place (since i had enjoyed their stories in gotsm). if i had kept my first opinion about her, instead of reading her story under a critic eye, she could still be my favorite - but i love overanalyze things after my first read, so ofc things changed.

i don't know how to talk about my feelings for anna without sounding rude towards her, but in general, i think of anna as a very self-absorbed, spoiled ignorant and privileged white person. her behavior with women isn't acceptable - and it shouldn't be ignored just because she's a minority herself. her agreement to seduce hypatia only to steal her pyxis shows a great deal of emotional irresponsibility. also, she's the whitest character in that series, for real. from the way she didn't even try to comprehend ariadne's fear to the way she acted once racism was brought up in the conversation - everything screams white!!

i like her relationship with christopher, tho. it's cute and they are a nice, funny duo. so that gets a yes from me, at least.
