She ducks her head.  She takes a slow breath, trying to quell her instinct to throw herself at the asker.  She wants to hit every inch of them that she can reach.  But that would just make things worse.  With this connection to Husk, she has to try even harder to show that she’s a good person.  She’s a good person.  

“It’d be worse back home, anyway.”  She exhales hard, “Since he’s from there, too.  And he’s killed more people there.  ‘Sides-”  She looks up, and although she isn’t flying at the asker with rage, it’s burning in her eyes, lined with red.  “I don’t got a family to go back to, because I’m never talkin’ to either of the folks that raised me ever again.”

Her fists are balled up, shaking slightly.  It’s taking all she has to not scream.  “People already know, and they don’t care.  I’m still me, he can’t change that.”  Never mind that she doesn’t REALLY believe everything she’s saying.  She just cant get caught in misbehaving ever again.  “Now git, I’m done talkin’ to you.”
