♪ - How do you decide on your muse’s dialogue?

very, very carefully. say what you will about inner monologues and detailed actions, but i believe that dialogue is the most important part in writing a character. capturing the voice of a muse isn’t something i look lightly upon. it has to sound like something they would say. it has to show their speech patterns. you should be able to close you eyes, and hear their voice saying the words that are in your head. and that’s generally how i decide. dialogue comes easy to me, so it’s usually the first thing i get written down. the rest is just filler.

✏ - Why did you choose your muse?

because she’s not a muse that i looked at first and fell in love with right away. i’ve had a steep learning curve when it comes to allison argent― and that’s a good thing in my opinion. i chose her because every day i’m still learning something new about her character. discovering new idiosyncrasies. delving into an aspect of her personality that i’ve yet discovered. and i like that. because i get bored with the muses i know inside and out. did i always love my muse? no. do i love her now? you bet your ass i fucking do.

✾ - What do you look for in other people’s writing?

literacy: i like big words, proper punctuation, and slamming grammar.

concise writing: if you can give me a lot of information in a shorter character count, and do it beautifully, i will love your writing until the end of days.

unique prose: because the same old thing gets boring. do something different, even if it completely out of the ball park, i won’t care. i love it. flowy prose that just seems to glide seamlessly together is an amazing thing. it’s like a word-flower; beautiful, coveted, and awe-inducing.

effortless prose: i envy people that can write with complete ease, like it’s the same as breathing. and as much as i envy writers like that, i love surrounding myself with them.

confidence: [ ! ! ! ! ! ] probably the most important. i hate seeing people bash their own writing. it’s upsetting. your writing might not be the best (because mine isn’t, and i know that), but you know what it is? It’s YOUR writing. an extension of you and your brain. Its yours and that alone makes it beautiful. your writing is something to be proud of. so owning to your writing style is something really important to me when it comes to reading someone else’s prose. love your writing and i’ll love it too.
