Hi! I’m actually contemplating picking up the Apollo Justice game. As someone who didn’t love the court sections of PLvsAA, and has never played the previous games, I have to ask, is it worth it for the story and the characters? I’d be willing to play the court sections for Apollo/Klavier moments alone :’D Also, I’m here for hobo dad Phoenix and Trucy Wright!

Yooo! I'd say that Apollo Justice is absolutely worth playing for the story and characters, especially since I know you love Found Family and the game is literally all about that. Most of the characters are excellent, even the ones that I don't personally talk about all that much. You also don't really need to have played the Phoenix Wright trilogy to pick it up. All you really need to know from the first games is that Phoenix was an arguably famous lawyer and now he isn't, but the game tells you that much anyway. I think Gumshoe is the only cameo from the OG trilogy and that's in a flashback anyway. My friends @krokonoko and @pandirpus both played AJ before the other games and loved it. Also, I'm gonna straight up say it: if the courtroom style of gaming isn't your thin, then just either walkthrough the whole game or watch a playthrough of it, so you can still experience the story without having to do those segments. Because yeah, totally worth it for the story. Usually I'm like "Haha the stuff I like is trash and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone", but in this case, Apollo Justice is absolutely the one thing I'd recommend to almost anyone, even if it's been a shamefully long time since I've played it myself.
