my very first basil* is dying, because basil is an annual, and so i've been letting it flower, which you can't do if you want it to keep growing because it takes too much of the plant's energy,  but i watered it this morning and found a few little sprouts by the base**, and i know that's how plants work but i'm still choked up about Renewal
