People will say that we shouldn’t mock picky eaters. That if someone doesn’t like something, that’s okay! People might have a phobia, be on the spectrum, or have some other aversion that they can’t control.
And that’s true. But it all becomes hollow and meaningless when many of these same people have normalized mocking how people eat if they can’t handle spicy foods, only like the foods they grew up with, or can’t acquire a taste for a certain ingredient or texture common in another culture.
