It’s a Merlin/SPN crossover and it’s lovely. Sam and Dean end up in Merlin and Arthur’s time, and my favorite boys get to geek out with each other. It’s been a while since I read it, but I remember enjoying it.

ANYWAY HEADCANON TIME

Sam and Merlin meeting and being sad and sassy friends is my dream forever and ever. 

And Sam should meet the Knights and learn that hell to the yes he can go on a Quest Like That™! And everyone loves him. 

And Merlin is tearing himself to bits between his desire to do the right thing and live up to his supposed fate and the terror that he’s doing the wrong thing, and Sam sees it and recognizes it and sits down with him and tells him that if the things he’s supposed to allow to happen in order to achieve some nebulous “destiny” don’t sit well with him, he can spit in Destiny’s face and make his own way.

And Mordred is always a Bro and Morgana never starts the rage-inducing Secret Evil Smile routine and is a boss and Merlin doesn’t have to stomp on his own heart and curse magic in front of Arthur and they all live happily every after.

Your works dedicated to spn never fail to fascinate me and I'd be utterly curious to read your works in other of your fandoms if there will be ones. If not, that's totally okay, but in case you do intend to try your hand at it, I'll be looking forward to that day!

Hello, amazing Anon! 

I have! Quite often, lately. The SPN muse has not been visiting, and I’ve been wondering if I can spend my creative energies elsewhere. Honestly, what I should be doing is editing one of the two  original fiction novels that need editing. One of them also needs... well, to actually be finished. I actually rewrote a significant chunk of the first scene the other day and am a bit happier with it now.

I would like to write for other actual fandoms, too, but I’m slightly terrified, for various reasons:

Nirvana in Fire: Ohhhhhhhh man, this freaking show. There are no words. There really aren’t. On the one hand, it’s nearly so freaking good (though a bit slow to get started) that I can’t even fathom needing to “fix” anything, and there’s so much in-show visceral pain and suffering and hurt/comfort that I hardly need to add more. It would be so cool to write something for it... but I am completely unfamiliar with terminology related to the culture and costumes and social expectations of slightly-fantasy-esque ancient China, so. I’m terrified I would Do Something Wrong and that has kept me from writing any sort of fiction yet... but I want to.

Hannibal: Fittingly, Hannibal is keeping me from writing fic for this fandom. I think I’ve finally sort of mentally mastered his cadence and word choice and feel relatively confident that I could write his voice, but I know literally nothing about good food and high society. That, at the very least, could be a roadblock and would require a significant chunk of research (or deft avoidance).

Merlin: I’ve actually considered it, and feel relatively sort of confident-ish that I might be able to write something for it... but it’s been long enough since I watched it that canon is a bit hazy and writing anything would require a rewatch.

Daredevil, MCU, and other fandoms: Awaiting inspiration.

I guess I’ll see if inspiration to write for any of these guys happens to hit! it usually happens suddenly. Is there any particular fandom you’re interested in seeing content for? If so we may be able to work something out! Terrified though I may be, it might be fun to try to dip my toes into new waters.

Not the same anon but I personally would love to see you try your hand at writing Merlin! I too love your spn writing but I’ve kind of fallen back into Merlin more lately and have been seeking content.

I’m... not good at all with prompts and can’t even offer a glimmer of certainty that I can write anything, but feel free to send along any ideas of things you wished you saw more of in the show or topics you’d like to see explored. I have to be honest: they may gather dust in my inbox while I attempt to Make The Inspiration Happen, but I’d be happy to try!

FRICK. Thinking about that made me think about what I wish had happened (differently), and it would be... like a freaking novel-length canon-divergent epic and sadlkjalkjsdlkjalkj I am not even allowed to THINK about that. That’s a hole I’d never crawl out of...

I was wondering if you had any recs for international tv shows. ( I know you like Nirvana in Fire, and was just wondering if there's anything else out there that you think is worth watching?)

And... this is the part where I wish I watched more TV, or consumed more media in general. When I fall for something, I fall for it hard, but the shows I watch (and the ensuing periods of devoted adoration) are pretty few and far between. Some, I watch and am just like, meh, so those won’t be on this list. Honestly, Nirvana in Fire kinda single-handedly tops the list in that it manages to be everything I love about shows stuffed into one. I mean, smart, frail, consumptive hero guy, an amazing cast of characters, pain of all sorts but also sweet soft fluffy bits you can scream over... ahhh. It’s kinda my personal ideal. An H/C fan’s paradise. I started watching a couple of other Chinese dramas, and while they were solid, none captured my interest or held a candle to NiF. The perils of watching the Best Show Ever. Ruins you for anything else.

But uhhhh.

Do any dramas created outside of the U.S. count, because they’re still English-language shows, but I do very much like BBC Merlin and the ongoing drama Humans. (It’s a sci-fi AI drama that really digs into the question of what humanity is, which is a topic I enjoy. Also it stars Colin Morgan, the guy who plays Merlin!) I am certain there are others, but they’re not coming to mind at the moment.
