     ‘ right -- and who’s the damsel in this scenario? ’     the edge of a smile begins to crease her cheek, a gleam settling itself into the stare she fixes sloan with. ‘ is it you? ’ she’s not flirting. but she’s not ... not flirting. it’s better than the alternative (no one likes the gory details of an expedition, no matter what they try to tell you), though. it’s certainly more fun.
