Day 4: Buzzfeed Unsolved — Elizabeth Winchester

"There aren’t a lot of records on the life of Elizabeth Winchester.  No birth records, very few records throughout her life, nothing really until her death certificate when she was seventeen.”

“How did she die?”

“That’s... unclear.  The coroners couldn’t find an obvious cause of death.  Apparently there were all sorts of occult markings left on her body, but she’d died before bleeding out.  They ended up calling it heart failure, but even they don’t seem convinced about that.”

“Maybe we should ask her ourselves.”

“Are you suggesting a seance?”

“No, but we were just tagged in a picture of her outside of a diner in South Dakota, supposedly taken and posted only a few hours ago.”

Day 4: Buzzfeed Unsolved — Leo Beckett

"Today’s story starts twenty-five years ago, with a band called Sunset Curve.”

“I thought we were talking about that new hologram band.”

“Shh, I’m getting there.  Sunset Curve had been growing in popularity for a while, and they were supposed to be playing at the Orpheum one night.  Only, they never did.”

“Why not?”

“Four of the five members died that night, from food poisoning.”

“Okay... so what makes it supernatural?”

“Look at this picture of the band during their sound check.  And look at this picture of Julie And The Phantoms.”

“They’re the same.”

“Exactly.”

“Maybe she based her holograms off of them?”

“Or maybe their name is telling us the truth.”

“You think they’re ghosts?”

“Of course not.  I think they’re phantoms.”

“Ever since she was ten years old, Arianne Martin has been a household name around the world.  She was a teen pop sensation, but eventually left Hollywood to move back to Beacon Hills, California.”

“Beacon Hills... that’s the town with all the weird mysteries, right?”

“It is, and it seems like Arianne got caught up in it.  Some people say it’s a cult, some people say there’s something supernatural going on, but whatever it was, it was weird.”

“So first her sister gets attacked at a school dance, and she moves home.  Then her girlfriend goes missing, and is found dead, then a girl who’s been missing since she was eight shows up, then Arianne and her maybe-boyfriend both end up in a real life horror movie asylum, then her sister’s best friend and boyfriend both die...”

“And that’s the short story.”

“So, Isla George?  What’s her deal?”

“Well, she was arrested for murder a few years ago.”

“Sounds boring.”

“Except that at the same time as a camera caught her at the murder scene, another camera caught her on the other side of the city.”

“Well, that’s definitely less boring.  Was she arrested?”

“Briefly, but then she disappeared.  She popped up a few times in the year following, usually around weird crimes.  Until the nest year, when she completely disappeared from the face of the planet, as if she had never existed.”

Day 8: Buzzfeed Unsolved AU — Beatrice Lovecraft-Hargreeves

“Beatrice Lovecraft used to be one of the biggest names in the country.  As part of the Umbrella Academy she was called the Abomination—”

“Well, that’s a nice title.”

“Isn’t it?  But she was a huge deal until she died at sixteen.  It was the second big tragedy that hit those kids.  The first was Number Five’s disappearance three years earlier — that episode is coming next week — and it was followed by Ben, The Horror’s, death the next year.”

“Talk about unlucky...”

“No kidding.  But as tragic as that all was, that’s not even what this surprise episode is about.  Only five days ago, a picture was taken outside of the Meritech building, of two people who were quickly identified as looking exactly like Number Five and Beatrice Lovecraft.”

“Sounds like the end of the world.”

Quinn (and Five) Hargreeves in Hear No Evil • Buzzfeed Unsolved 

“This week on Buzzfeed Unsolved we’ll be looking at the mysterious disappearance of not one but two of the famous Umbrella Academy kids.”

“Hold on, two of them disappeared?”

“Yes they did.  The twins, Five and Five Point Five - better known as Quinn - were everyone’s favourite superheroes, until one day the kids showed up on a mission without either of them.”

“I think their dad did it.”

“Reginald Hargreeves?”

“Yeah, him.  That monocle practically screams child murderer.”
