Intro To Silver Link For Context To The Character.
1: What Variation(s) do they have?
So...this is a bit complicated. I am heavily basing Silver's Intersex experience off my own, and I don't actually know my specific variation(s) yet. I will likely be giving him the same variation I have when I figure that out, but until then, he's unlabelled. I can however tell you some of the traits I have given him, which are Hyperandrogenism (resulting in hirsutism and a lower vocal range), and Ambiguous Genitalia (For those who may be reading, this is not an invitation to start asking about that second one).
(Rest of the answers under the cut because I yap)
5: How would this character describe themself? How accurate is that description?
Silver would likely describe herself as an easy-going person who cares a lot about other people, and does her best to take everyone else's wellbeing into account. She'd admit that she's aware of the expectations placed on her, but is humble about it, just claiming that she's just a helpful person, no one special really. She'll reassure you that she doesn't mind the expectations though, she can handle it.
If you pressed her on her personality, she'd say that she's creative, and that she likes to think she's funny as well. But otherwise, she claims to just be an ordinary person, living their life in extraordinary circumstances.
As for how accurate that is... it's mostly true, but with a big fat asterisk attached. She does care about others, and does take their wellbeing seriously... but to a concerning degree. If something goes wrong, and someone gets hurt in a way she could have "prevented", she'll spiral over it.
She is overly concerned with having control over a situation, and holds the belief that if she isn't the one to help others, if she can't be the one to shoulder everything, then it'll all fall apart catastrophically.
The expectation to be the one to always have the solution crushes her, but she just can't let it go because if she can't do it, who will?
She is an anxious wreck who struggles with all or nothing thinking, and is a bundle of nerves hidden under a calm and quick-witted way of speaking. She'll gladly help others, but letting them help her is a whole other story...
7: What hobbies do they have? What do they do for a living? Why?
Before arriving in The Wishing Well, I could see him being a huge coin collector, but currency doesn't exactly exist where he is now (the concept does, but there's not a need for it), so that's a bit of an impossibility. Journaling and poetry is a hobby of his currently, as it helps him record and get his thoughts straight, though he'd probably be a little embarrassed if you found his works. I could also see him being into Fiber Arts and growing plants as well, something about slowly building a creation up from not a lot into blooming into something grand.
To tie into the "there's no need for currency" thing mentioned earlier, there's not exactly jobs in The Wishing Well either. Instead he mostly goes and checks in and problem solves with others as needed. He'll run errands and patch things up as they come up, but there's not necessarily anything steady with that. Most things can be either believed/wished into happening or aren't required in The Wishing Well (for example, the people there don't need to eat, which is probably for the best as they can't remove the masks on their faces).
16: What themes / motifs / imagery do you associate with this character? Do you associate any intersex symbols / imagery with them?
Everyone in The Wishing Well has a name that reflects some sort of belief, saying, or superstition. Silver's is based off of "Silver Linings" and "Lucky Coins", so those are things I associate with her. Knots and loops are also a motif I associate with her! In terms of general symbols, I would use an Eclipse for her.
For intersex specific imagery, I mostly associate her with Orchids. Flowers are a huge symbolic love for me, and I think they're a lovely symbol. I think her favorite color would be purple if the world wasn't greyscale as well.
I also do somewhat associate her with the circle from the flag, though I have to put a disclaimer about her mask here.
The masks in Welcome To The Wishing Well are mean to symbolize masking to an extent, and expectations others are placing onto how others should be, and can clash with what the character may feel about themself. Silver is seen as always easygoing and cheerful, hard to shake, and and thus her mask seems to always be smiling. The broken circle is supposed to be a representation of others who may see Silver as broken in some way, not of her actually being broken.
