*chokes on year-plus of dirt on this goddamn blog*
Is it totally unreasonable of me to be upset that places that aren't Maine can't be bothered how this 'snow' things works and plan accordingly?
Like, Maryland we've been here before you know that snow happens and while a huge portion of your yearly budget shouldn't go to snow related things, maybe set some money aside in the off chance you get three inches of snow and the world ends you? Maybe look at the last ten or so years and say 'Hey we're averaging about a foot of snow over the course of three months, lets budge so we can deal with a foot and a half and if we don't use all of the salt/sand/man hours driving our one plow truck we'll have a cushion for next year'.
everyone thinks that an open fireplace is quaint or rustic but what it actually is is a chimney blowing down in the wind so that your living room fills with smoke and you have to open all the windows despite the fucking gale that's going down outside
