I really have to stress that although the focus in the above video is on Muslim extremists otherwise known as “Islamists” personally I take issue with absolutely all extremist ideology from whichever religion, nationality or political leaning one can possibly think of. The mass and independent media at large doesn’t let the general public cotton onto the fact that the overwhelming bulk of the troubles in the middle east are being continuously fed by a minority of religious fanatics within the Muslim, Jewish and Christian world and not just simplistically by ‘Israel/Jews ‘ or ‘Palestine/Muslims.’ In the case of the long suffering Palestinians (who are both Muslim and Christian) their utterly miserable situation while unquestionably a result of unresolved land disputes and enduring military conflict with Israel is in actuality far more than anything a result of the long standing tradition of their political leaders (all the way back from the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem in the 1930’s to Hamas today..) ruthlessly exploiting the population’s grievances with relentless emotive propaganda and cleverly/cynically directed hatred at Israel and Jews purely for the sake of political gain and power. It is the classic ‘divide and conquer’ logic adapted by endless tribal leaders from every nation and religion one can imagine throughout history.
The mass western (ie CNN) and non-western media (ie Al Jazeera) are 24 hour news services with relentlessly impossible deadlines to produce new stories as well as for the most part extremely ruthless executives demanding ever higher ratings and profits like all companies around the world today with an end objective that has nothing to do with telling the truth. The only thing that matters is selling a story and we are being lied to en masse by a ruthless mass media that cares nothing for the truth, and we are fed 24/7 tidbits of information from various global conflicts as well as inundated with endlessly mindless reality TV shows that morally corrupt with their common theme of ‘winner takes all, DONT be a loser.’ This is a phenominan that can be seen in each and every corner of the world and don’t think for one minute Youtube will show ‘the truth’ because the fanatically-inclined as well as the hordes of brainwashed people on all sides cling doggedly to ‘proof’ ridden videos that uphold their every definite beliefs that they are ‘right’ and the other side are ‘pigs, liars, Nazis’ etc etc. It is an unbelievable tragedy in the making. There are endless horrible comments from Muslim, Christian, Jewish, left-wing, right-wing, capitalist-leaning and socialist-leaning people to one another where the values of human decency, tolerance and acceptance of others has completely gone out the window as a direct result of the mass media’s mishandling of presenting balanced news in forsakance of meeting ever more ridiculous deadlines as well as chasing ratings, ever more outlandish profits and greater market share.
To me the ultimate antidote to the middle east conflict is pure and simple logic. No amount of endless finger pointing, victimisation and violence will magically ‘solve’ anything and in the end there will be and can be logically no ‘winner’. Of course Palestinians should have their borders returned to them from 1967 – this is moral and fair. However, and equally moral and fair, Jewish people have a right to live in the future state of Palestine defined by these very borders just as 1.5 million Palestinian people live in the modern state of Israel today. The Right Of Return regarding both sides needs to uphold the basic character and primary religion of either nation: to flood either nation with an enormous amount of returned citizens of the opposite ethnicity/religion is completely unreasonable and unrealistic both environmentally and socially and will lead to obvious unrest. For those who say that ‘Jews never lived on this land’ this is total and utter rubbish. Garbage. There has been a continuous Jewish presence in Israel since biblical times: it is a physical impossibility that the entire population of the ancient Israelites fled to Europe, Africa and Asia after the Roman conquisition some years after Jesus Christ’s crucificition. To give but just one tiny example in European history alone large numbers of people of the Jewish religion (converts and/or otherwise) fled to the middle east after the Spanish Inquisition of 1492..long before there was any notion of ‘Palestine’ or ‘Israel’. Both Israel and the future land of Palestine contain cities, towns and sites that are of immense historical, cultural and religious significance to people of the three major monotheastical faiths. These are facts and have been 100% proved through intensive historical research and comprehensive DNA and biological studies of the peoples of the region. The Hebrew language in itself is more than 5000 years old. It is the language of the Old Testament which comes directly from this region and it has been in constant use as a written language (Yiddish and Ladino) worldwide by Jewish people since it’s conception as a language. This is pure cold logical fact and nothing can dispute this irrefutable truth.
And thus lies the unbelievable stupidity of this conflict because for starters neither side is going to get rid of the other and in the end it really is all so pointless arguing about which inch of land is whose. That land will always be holy land, no matter who owns it. The important point is that people of all religions and nationalities can come to this region to worship in peace and with respect and humility. This ideal must be achieved and achieved fast and the only way is through awareness of how much we are all being lied to by the mass media. In the meanwhile extremists religious and otherwise of all persuasions and perhaps more importantly companies and corporations with a vested financial interest will continue to promote hatred and intolerance throughout this region (and the world at large). Intolerant attitudes must be rooted out so that a future state of Palestine can live side by side with Israel free from the incessant gossip-mongering and hatred wreaked onto these peoples by the mass media and religious/nationalist extremists worldwide.
