I want the fic of how Caitlin & Ronnie fell in love. Caitlin, the prickly, strictly-business, micro-managing scientist/doctor who slowly had her walls brought down by the attractive, confident, extremely skilled mechanical engineer who had his heart set on her since day one.
Whatever joy and genuine kindness and warmth she had in her vanished somewhere in her adolescence when her dad (who she was very close to) died and her mom stopped being a mother or validating anything her daughter did.
Somewhere between Caitlin's pre-Ronnie days and when he was officially her boyfriend, Caitlin learned to laugh and love and smile and have the genuine desire to help people for no other reason b/c it was the right thing to do and she wanted to do it. She had compassion and sympathy. Even her eagerness to learn and grow in her work evolved tremendously.
By the time she met Cisco, she'd become a completely different person. Ronnie had brought to the surface the remnants of who she was before her family fell apart and built on it until she loved and respected herself as much as he did.
I want that story.
