Little Salt of Solidarity
I headcanon when the beasts were baked, they were actually children, and stayed with the witches for some time before being sent to Earthbread. The beasts would eventually see their creators being their moms.
Salt of Solidarity in particular really was close to his mother. Perception (First Salt) really grew to loving him. Salt was baked with softer dough than normal, so they had to make him little armor to protect him from accidentally squishing his dough on things he bumped into.
Yes the beasts do indeed have paws and claws, they just do not let anyone see them.
