fun fact! My alien race are technically shapeshifters! Technically. The shapeshifting really only occurs in situations where its absolutely necessary (freezing, drowning, hiding, etc.), and usually theyre never that big of a change. Like just body temperature and stuff. Though sometimes we used to hear stories about people who would dissolve into sea foam or grow wings or stuff like that. We dont really know why we do this but we think its because, up until Recently, our species were planetary nomads, so we would need to change quickly in case we moved to a different spot quickly.
